This directory contains the rough beginnings of a LaTeX compatibility module for ConTeXt -- essentially a complete reimplementation of the LaTeX kernel to operate within ConTeXt. The focus, at present, is on code that will allow excerpts from LaTeX documents to work in ConTeXt documents; having ConTeXt compile complete LaTeX documents will come later, if at all. (I do hope to have package loading working at some point, though, at least for some packages.) You should expect this code to be buggy. You should expect it to occasionally fail to play nice with ConTeXt, in ways that I haven't yet documented because I haven't yet discovered them. You should expect to find it incomplete, sometimes exceptionally so. Hopefully, you may also find it useful.

ConTeXt has an excellent pretty printing capabilities for many languages. The code for pretty printing is written in TeX, and due to catcode jugglary verbatim typesetting is perhaps the trickiest part of TeX. This makes it difficult for a "normal" user to define syntax highlighting rules for a new language. This module, takes the onus of defining syntax highlighting rules away from the user and uses ViM editor to generate the syntax highlighting. There is a helper 2context.vim script to do the syntax parsing in ViM. This is a stop-gap method, and hopefully with luaTeX, things will be much easier.

texshow uses perl and PerlTk to show a overview of the ConTeXt commands and the parameters of those. In the Tk window you can search for a command and by switching the interface, you can see the equivalent in another interface language.

The 't-bnf' module provides a simple way to write good-looking BNF-style grammars in ConTeXt. Grammars are written using the BNF syntax right in your ConTeXt documents, so there is a clear separation between content and layout. This allows the user to decide exactly how the grammar is to be displayed, while also allowing the gist of the grammar to be understood from simply looking at the source ConTeXt document.
